71. What Makes for a Meaningful Legacy?
Legacies are complicated. We all leave one, whether good or bad. For those of us trying to leave an impactful, positive legacy in our families, how should we set about doing that? How much control do we really have over the ripple effect of our actions today on future generations? What does the Word teach us about legacy, and how does our time on Earth fit into God's eternal plans?
It's easy to get lost in the day-to-day of fatherhood and lose sight of the big picture. While our lives are but a vapor, according to the apostle James, they continue on through our kids, who are a big part of our legacy (Psalm 127). This episode is Part 1 of a series on "Legacy" where Brett and Perry begin to unpack important themes around legacy that may shift the way we think about our responsibilities as fathers in terms of our impact after we're gone. Our legacy matters, but perhaps not in the way you'd expect.
